Description
Our coriolis flowmeter operates on a measuring principle centered on the controlled generation of Coriolis forces. These forces are present whenever translational and rotational movements overlap. The formula FC = 2 · Δm (v · ω) underscores how Coriolis force amplitude hinges on moving mass Δm, velocity v, and mass flow. Unlike constant angular velocity ω, our Promass sensor oscillates, employing two parallel measuring tubes filled with fluid that oscillate in antiphase, akin to a tuning fork. The Coriolis forces generated at these tubes induce a phase shift in their oscillations:
• At zero flow, the tubes oscillate in phase (1).
• Mass flow slows oscillation at the tube inlet (2) and accelerates it at the outlet (3).
For seamless integration, the flowmeter can be connected to a datalogger for continuous 24/7 logging and real-time measurement.
